Patients and their family members may obtain advice and support during their hospitalization by talking to their nurse or physician, as well as any of the medical staff, including nurses, chaplains or social workers.

• Guest Services: This is where you’ll find visiting hours, important visitor guidelines including restricted visitation that may be in effect due to flu or other health issues, support that’s available and why we may–or may not–be able to tell you the room number of some patients.

• Cafeteria: McDowell’s cafeteria—the Mountain View Café—is open every day, all year, including holidays. We serve three hot meals, a continental breakfast, and provide snacks and drinks. Visitors can also order a take-out meal to enjoy in the patient’s room. The menu for each week is updated online every Thursday afternoon.

• Gift Shop: Our Window Box Gift Shop is the perfect place to find a thoughtful gift, flowers, cards, books, snacks and personal essentials.

• Paying Your Bill: Now that you’re well enough to leave the hospital, it’s time to talk about your bill. At McDowell Hospital, we understand your concerns about costs and have trained staff members ready to talk to you about insurance, payment arrangements and to help you apply for assistance if necessary.

• Reporting Concerns: We encourage you to talk to your nurse, doctor or staff members about any questions and issues you have so that we can help resolve them during your stay at McDowell Hospital. If you have unresolved concerns, the next step is to talk to administrative staff.
