McDowell Hospital Auxiliary presents annual scholarships

 

McDowell Hospital Auxiliary is pleased to announce the 2011 recipients of the Annual Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship.  Congratulations to Hannah Nichols, Donna Rhoades and Kelsea Greene!
 
Nichols is a student at University of North Carolina Greensborough, and will receive her Bachelor Degree in May of 2012 in Human Dietetics.  She is finishing her pre-requisite studies to become a physician’s assistant.  Rhoades is attending McDowell Technical Community College, and is studying to be a Registered Nurse (RN).  Rhoades has made the Honor’s List and the Dean’s List for 2011.  Greene is attending Western Carolina University and will graduate in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science and Nursing (BSN). 
 
McDowell Hospital Auxiliary presents scholarships each year to McDowell County residents who are pursing degrees in the medical field.  “The Auxiliary is proud to have been able to help local students for over ten years” said Interim Volunteer Specialist Trish Takacs.  “These scholarships help our community, our students and our future. “  Scholarships are reviewed by the Auxiliary Scholarship Committee and then approved by the Hospital Auxiliary Board.  For more information about these annual scholarships or the McDowell Hospital Auxiliary contact a member of volunteer services at 828-659-5000 or email them at volunteer.services@msj.org
