Our Patients

We see anyone needing orthopedic care, from infants to the elderly. While your doctor may make a referral, you do not need a referral to see our orthopedic physician. To schedule an appointment, please call 828-652-1673.

Is this an emergency?

When you call during office hours, the staff at McDowell Orthopedics assesses your condition and schedules an appointment as quickly as possible…immediately if necessary but usually within 24 to 48 hours. However, some injuries need treatment right away.  If we’re not in the office, please call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. If you’re headed to McDowell Hospital’s Emergency Department, our office offers 24/7 emergency coverage. These symptoms indicate the need for medical attention:

• Swelling, bruising or bleeding
• Intense pain
• Inability to move the affected body part
• Bone puncturing through the skin
