Community-Based Programs
Preschool Dental Program
A dentist and dental assistant visit child care centers, preschool programs and community events to provide a free, limited oral exam. After the exam, the dental assistant talks to families about any barriers that prevent them from obtaining dental services, such as financial assistance, transportation, locating a provider and interpreter services.
Children’s groups may request a dental assistant to provide education sessions to the children. These fun, interactive sessions use a special puppet to teach the children how to take care of their teeth. Please call 828-659-5000 to learn more about this program.
